No matter how strong the calling is to do the work we do, we’re always susceptible to burn out. It’s just part of being human. The one thing you can do to work against that, however, is to check in with yourself.
Being on the right path: there’s not a lot of feelings like it.
I can’t explain it, but it’s definitely a feeling. Something in your gut that just reassures you. Or that moment after something that shouldn’t have worked out well, did.
Since my first steps on this path of entrepreneurship, about a year ago now, I’ve felt this universal assurance that I am doing something right. But it wasn’t always like that.
Just before I struck out on my own, I was really questioning the option. I thought, “maybe I should just look at other corporate opportunities.”
I was ignoring so many signs up to that point, and I’m so grateful that I finally decided to open up to the idea of creating something all my own.
My business is something that I am proud of. It’s something that allows me the opportunity to connect with people who I can support.
If you haven’t felt this kind of pull yet, don’t worry. You’ll feel it if you believe in yourself, the work that you’re doing, and trust in the process of meeting goals, big and small.
Your path might be long. It may even have a few pitstops like mine, but the important part is that your path is leading you somewhere. If you continue to take one step at a time, there’s nowhere to go but forward.
